Coroner fue una banda de Thrash Metal técnico de Zúrich (Suiza) que tuvo cierta fama en Europa y relativamente muy poca fuera de sus fronteras. Combinaban elementos de Metal progresivo, jazz, Speed y Thrash con una manera adecuadamente áspera de cantar que a veces los acercaba bastante al campo del Death Metal; todo ello con una técnica envidiable y un estilo cada vez más complejo, que a menudo eran etiquetados por los críticos musicales como "Los Rush del Thrash Metal". Sus mejores obras fueron ''No more color'' (todo un clásico, hoy en día aún injustamente valorado) y ''Mental Vortex''; el peor: ''Grin'', por su acercamiento con el sonido industrial.
